Person caps explained

The math that protects you.

We count active people — anyone with an open record. Candidates in your pipeline, interns mid-program, current staff, active contractors, current partners.

Archived people are free. So is signing 200 documents with the same contractor over three years. The cap is a soft fence — we'll warn you well before you hit it and help you upgrade or archive cleanly.

Practical translation: Starter (50 active) fits a 5-person team running 2 cohorts of interns. Team (250 active) fits a 25-person org with a constant intern pipeline. Scale is for agencies and ecosystem operators running multiple brands.

What counts as an active person?
Anyone with an open record in the people table — candidates currently in your pipeline, interns mid-onboarding, staff in good standing, active contractors, current partners. Archived people don't count. You can archive and re-activate freely; we count peak active in a billing month.
What happens when I hit my AI draft limit?
On Starter, extra AI drafts are $1 each — pay only for what you use. On Team, you get 100 included; overage is $0.50 per draft. On Scale, AI is unlimited within a fair-use ceiling (we'll reach out before throttling anyone). Templates, contracts you write by hand, and blank docs are always free.
Can I run multiple orgs on one plan?
Starter is one org. Team is one org with extra orgs at $29 each per month. Scale is unlimited orgs — built for agencies, holding companies, and ecosystem operators who run several brands on shared infrastructure.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Right now we're in pilot, which means full access free for 60 days on any tier — no credit card required. After GA we'll keep a 14-day free trial on every paid plan.
Can I switch plans later?
Up or down, any time. Upgrades pro-rate immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Cancel from the billing page; no phone calls, no exit survey.
Do you charge per signature like DocuSign?
No. Sending a contract for signature is included in every paid tier within the contracts-per-month limit. We don't believe in per-envelope pricing — signatures are a feature, not a meter.
Do you handle payroll, taxes, or 1099s?
No. Janice runs the hire → contract → onboard flow, not payroll. We integrate cleanly with Gusto, Rippling, Deel, and Wave for the money side — you keep your existing payroll tool, we replace the docs and onboarding chaos around it.
Where is my data stored? Can I export it?
Postgres in US-East-1 (Supabase). Every signed PDF stamped with SHA-256 hash, IP, user-agent. Export your full data set as JSON + a zip of all PDFs from the Org Settings page at any time. Yours to keep, even after cancellation.
